Case 2
Error message:
Windows
Command Prompt has been disabled by
Your Administrator
Now this sounds like a real virus attack. Virus generally
disables these good utilities to trick us.
Ø
Method
1
·
Enter regedit.exe at the run prompt.
·
If registry editor has also been disabled by
the virus refer to this tutorial.
·
Point to this key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
·
Find this key "DisableCMD"
·
Double click it and in the “dword” field and
enter this key “00000000”
·
If the dword doesn’t exist create it
Ø
Method 2
·
Type gpedit.msc at
the command prompt
·
In the left section
point to user configuration
--> Administrative
Templates-->
System
·
Find this entry in
the right panel “Prevent Access to the Command
Prompt”
·
Double click it
-->
In the opened window change setting to Enabled
·
Now run cmd.exe again
but it will not run. This is to trick the virus that
cmd.exe has already been disabled. So it will
release its control on command prompt.
·
Now to enable it just
change the setting to Disabled or Not Configured in
gpedit.msc.
If both these methods fail then
you should use Process Explorer to gain accesses. So
you see how easy it is to gain accesses to command
prompt without any antivirus.
